Live-it

I am so excited for what is about to come. I want to start and finish it now... even though I KNOW I'll be bored once I've finished... But live-it has really given me a chance to put what I love and who I love together for the first time and really make it count!!!

Live-it is an organization here in Knoxville, TN that helps the needy. But it's not something you do to put on a college application to make you "well rounded"; not something you add to your resume to make it "look good"; not something I'm doing to make someone else happy. God has put us here in TN for a reason. For THIS reason. I get to help an organization bred out of love for our lord be something big; bold; and mighty, just like him.

I originally found live-it through the internet. I thought it would be a good way to meet people, other christians, in our area since we know practically no one here. But 2 meetings in and God is pulling at my heart strings telling me this is what I was brought here to do!!!

Right now I have a few projects going with them: One is called the "VolCall" group. Once we know the projects we will be doing we get on the phone and make calls to our volunteers to let them know of the opportunities coming up. The Second is to help them with their advertising to share with local businesses to get them to sponsor projects! Thirdly, I will be attending different projects to get photos of the volunteers for the site, future advertising, etc!

I know I posted briefly the other day about this. However, we spent 2 hours tonight going through everything and I had more (AMAZING) info to share.

Other than Live-it, I have nothing... LOL. No news on the job front as of yet... and while this is a bit hard for us, and stressfull [and boring] for me I am planning on focusing on this for now. I believe God is going to Keep us safe, and secure, and once it's the right time I will find exactly what WE need!

Finally in the swing of things!

SO, its been a few weeks since I've posted... and I wish I could say it's because I've been unbelievably busy, but it's not... I have been busy trying to find a job, and honestly besides boring day to day stuff there hasnt been much going on to blog about. But tonight I have a few things to let everyone know about!

First, I have found a job with Bankers life... I will be selling medicare supplements and life insurance/annuities. Im pretty excited about this chance to work with the retired community again, its been a few years.

Also I have recently connected with a volunteer group here in Sevier county called Live-it. Beginning out I will be making phone calls to other volunteers to get them to come out to help. We do just about everything from building drive ways, to cleaning out houses, providing cooking and cleaning for members just getting out of surgery that has noone to help. I'm extremely excited about this opportunity to get to know people in our community and to help others in need!!!

Tennessee!

We've officially been here for one week! We've done lots of things including getting our new home together, went sight seeing, went to a Christmas Parade and even a play! It has been a very fun filled week, and now Jesse has returned to work, but at his NEW location, on chapman highway!

The first thing we did was get situated into our new home. We got the furniture in its place very first. The kitchen came next... 14 boxes(!!) in total completed the kitchen. The next morning we completed most of the living room putting together the computer, game systems etc. We also did the grocery shopping.

Tuesday we went sight seeing, checked out the complex, and area around us. The next day we tackled our bedroom, and our master bathroom. Got everything unpacked and all of our clothes put away in our closets, and the towels and blankets/sheets folded and in the linen closet! Wednesday we spent most of the day walking around the mall filling out applications. Thursday we laid low and hung around. Friday we completed the the living room and what was left of our bedroom. Then that evening we went to the knoxville christmas parade. We got to see local companies and all kinds of school bands. It was really cool!

Saturday we had our first guests in our home! My Aunt and Uncle from strawberry Plains Joined us for dinner. We made stuffed peppers and talked and played bowling on the wii. They brought is some yummy fruit and a Poinsettia!  Sunday we did the weeks grocery shopping and then went to a play at Holston Baptist that was put on by the teenagers of the church. It was pretty funny while still delivering a very important message! Well thats everything for now. It has only been a week, but I'm sure there is more fun to come! There is so much in knoxville to do! Thanks for reading and I'll talk to you soon!

Moving!

We only have 3 days until we pack up our truck, and 4 days until we hit the road. For those of you that do not know, Jesse and I will be moving as of Nov 28, to Seymour, TN. It's about 30 minutes from the smokies and 20 minutes south of Knoxville. It is a 4 and a half hour drive from our current home in Burlington,KY.

I'm so excited to finally say that I'm getting out of Cincinnati... I always said growing up that I wanted to live in different places. I want to pack up and move somewhere completely different than here. I think, honestly, that is exactly what we are doing! Tennessee reminds me of so much I don't have here. Calmness. Peace. Excitement of a new place. Brand new adventures.
Our "Everyday" View (although this photo just simply doesn't compare to the real view :/)

Our home will be at the foothills of the Smokies. When we walk out of our door each morning you get this majestic blue view of the mountains. If that doesn't scream Calm and peaceful, then I don't know what does...

So excited to see what the new home and location will bring. I will keep updating, and uploading photos, so stay tuned!!

Hello!

Hey all! It's Keeshia. I live in Burlington, Ky right now. but in 10 days I will be moving to Seymour, Tennessee. I have been married since March 20th, 2009 to Jesse (pictured above). I have a dog named Mr. Pickles and he is a Puggle. Right now I am into photography pretty much full time, but not sure if that will continue once we get to Tennessee! I love anything that lets me use my creative side, and I hate being bored. As my husband says, I'm addicted to facebook, but as I see it, its the way I can keep up with everything that is going on with everyone.

Jesse and I love to travel and visit new places. We like watching movies, and hanging out with friends and family. We are looking forward to living in a new place filled with adventure, but I'm sure his favorite part about it will be living 20 minutes from Go Kart heaven (Pigeon Forge)!!

I'm pretty familiar with google's website and blogging so if you have any questions feel free to pull my email or cell number from facebook and contact me for help!

talk to ya soon!
